Staying a moment at the threshold.
Before a transition, I sometimes feel my full weight. The dark branching form holds that resistance here, while white and yellow open the surrounding space. I am interested in their meeting: an edge that can feel like both support and obstacle.
I do not hurry out of this tension. I let density remain beside light. There is a courage in approaching before taking the step itself, and I seek it in painting. The threshold holds what restrains me together with what calls me, in a moment when both carry weight.
Colour and material
A dark structure separates and connects two colour temperatures. The contrast between its density and expanding light produces the composition’s principal tension.
