Exuberance and its patience.
A part of me wants to say everything in a single movement. The red arcs give it breadth. Then fine, repeated marks bring me into another time: attention given to one trace, then the next. Between these two speeds the painting finds its breath.
I want intensity to sustain a long encounter. The broad gesture opens the surface; detail gives me reasons to stay. Together they hold a familiar tension: the impulse to give myself fully and the patience to understand what I place within each gesture.
Colour and material
Broad arcs are crossed by fine repetitions. The relationship between sweeping gesture and small mark gives the dominant red a structure more complex than first impressions suggest.
