A world with a shifting centre.
A dream can hold together things I would separate while awake. That is how I feel this painting: spirals, veins and radial forms borrow one another’s directions until their boundaries become uncertain. I am drawn to a world that organises itself through connections I cannot yet name.
I leave the eye several places to begin. A small mark can briefly matter more than a large form. Desire, fear and memory can inhabit the same thought in this way. The dream has a changing anatomy: each time I return, something different becomes its heart.
Colour and material
Radial forms distribute attention across several centres. Organic paths connect them in an open structure where each detail can change the reading of the whole.
