How many feelings make a whole?
I can love and fear in the same instant. I can feel strong while holding something very fragile within me. In this form assembled from distinct marks, I find room for simultaneous feelings. Each can remain present within the whole.
Up close, colour reveals a raised edge, a small shadow, a meeting of tones. Distance brings them together into a nucleus reaching outwards. I call this encounter an inner constellation. Its coherence lies in the relationships between gestures, just as my sense of self includes what I have yet to reconcile.
Colour and material
The central form brings together many distinct deposits of pigment. At close range, the unity of its silhouette gives way to relief and differences between individual strokes.
